Illinois Woman Arrested in Norfolk Trying to Open Account With Fake ID

NORFOLK - An Illinois woman is in jail after authorities say she was part of a cell-phone and fake ID scheme. 21-year old Dominique Wittmeyer was arrested Wednesday morning. Norfolk Police Captain Don Miller says police were called by staff at Midwest Bank...after Wittmeyer tried to us a fake I-D from Missouri to open a bank account. Police arrested Wittmeyer and searched her vehicle...where they say they found thousands of dollars worth of cell phones. Captain Miller says Wittmeyer and her friends were using fake I-D's to open bank accounts to purchase cell phones. Miller says the scheme was used at a number of locations in Nebraska and Iowa. Police say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
