SCHUYLER, Neb. - Hundreds of folks from all across the area were in downtown Schuyler on Monday for their annual Labor Day celebration and parade.
The afternoon parade closed out an eventful weekend in the town, where a carnival, fireworks, dances and other family-friendly events took place since Friday night.
The parade was led by law enforcement and area fire departments before the rest of the floats took over.
Various school marching bands played their favorite tunes with Schuyler High & Middle School, Aquinas Catholic High and David City High School all playing in the parade.
The Shriners had over a dozen parade spots, showing off their musical talent and various wacky vehicles.
Politicians took to the streets with Gov. Pete Ricketts in attendance, he was joined by fellow republican and secretary of state candidate Bob Evnen. Democratic congressional candidate Dennis Crawford was also there, as was Mayor David Reinecke, among others.
Mexican culture was on display as well, with many in costumes and masks dancing for the public in attendance.
Classic cars and creative floats by organizations such as CHI Health Schuyler, also highlighted the annual event.
