Healing Hearts & Families ‘Seasons Of Change’ Gala October 16

Healing Hearts & Families is hosting the 6th Annual Gala on October 16 at the One Box Convention Center in Broken Bow. This event is HHF major fundraiser and will feature a catered dinner, live and silent auction, and live entertainment.

HHF is excited to have the opportunity to host an event for the community and to provide direction and guidance to individuals and families experiencing domestic violence. Proceeds from the event go to meet the needs of survivors and their families.

This past year, 483 victims were served in Nebraska in one day, 206 of those were adults and 277 were children. Donations are used to purchase groceries, make utility payments, deposits on living space, car seat, medical co-pay, child’s school supplies, gas cards, hygiene products, diapers and wipes, food cards, medicine, blankets, pillows, and more.

Executive Director Suellen Koepke said domestic violence is everywhere and ignoring it is not the answer. “We don’t like to see it, we don’t like to admit it is here, but it is here.”

Located in Broken Bow, Healing Hearts and Families serves eight counties, covering 7,000 square miles (Blaine, Custer, Garfield, Greeley, Loup, Sherman, Valley, and Wheeler). It provides services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Juvenile diversion programs and counseling services for victims, survivors, and families affected by domestic abuse are also available.

Staff at Healing Hearts and Families provide a 24/7 crisis line at 1-800-942-4040. Everything is confidential and services can be given to individuals, children, and families.

Individual tickets can be purchased at $40/ person or a table of ten can be purchased for $360. To buy tickets or for more information, call (308) 872-2420 by the end of the day on October 11.
