Arcadia Loup City defeated Anselmo Merna Thursday night in the season opener for both teams. ALC would jump out to a 17-3 lead after the first quarter. AM kept chipping away though and pulled to within 37-34 in the 4th quarter. That would be as close as the Lady Coyotes would get as ALC went on an 8-0 run to close out the game and claim a 45-34 victory. Kennedy Lewandowski led the way for the Lady Rebels with 10 points and Megan Christen was the leading scorer for AM with 9 points.
