Fundraiser for Bissonette Family at Bonfire Grill Oct. 7

BROKEN BOW–The public is invited to the Bonfire Grill & Pub (509 S 9th Ave, Broken Bow, NE 68822) in Broken Bow as part of a special fundraiser for the Bissonette family. One hundred percent of the proceeds from Thursday, October 7 will go directly to the family of James Bissonette.

“100% of everything that comes in to the restaurant will be donated to the Bissonette family. From the entire day,” Chef Scott Breazeale said on the Get Up and Go Breakfast Show.

James Bissonette, 34, passed away on September 23 after a battle with COVID-19. (Click here to view the obituary.) He served on the Broken Bow Volunteer Fire Department and leaves behind his wife, Michaela, and two young kids. James left this world a hero by donating his organs to help save others.

The Broken Bow Volunteer Fire Department will join the Bonfire team from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday as honorary waiters and bartenders.

Please bring cash and eat or drink from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. No carry-out orders.

The staff at Bonfire encourage people to come out and enjoy some good food for a great cause. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Bissonette family.

“The whole day. The whole day. All day, everything that we bring in will go to them. We’re really trying to push cash only because of this. We really want you guys to bring in your cash because it makes it a lot easier for us to do that this way. Seriously, 100% goes to the family,” Abby Mattox said.

The regular menu will be available along with a special meal of steak alfredo–a combination of James’s favorite foods. Drink specials will include some favorites of the late volunteer firefighter, Pendalton and Coke and Bloody Marys.
