Four Injured in Separate Nemaha County Accidents

Four people were injured in two separate accidents Friday and Saturday, according to the Nemaha County Sheriff's Office. The first crash was reported at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Brian Joy, of Humboldt, was northbound on Highway 75 in his 1997 Ford pickup when a southbound 2013 Chevrolet pickup, driven by John Sierks of Brownville, attempted to turn east on 731 Road, causing a collision. Officials say both drivers were transported to Nemaha County Hospital with minor injuries. There were no passengers. Meanwhile, a 911 call reported a single vehicle accident west of Auburn on 728 Road at 1:20 a.m. Saturday. Matthew Williams, of Johnson, lost control of a 2006 Saturn Vue and the vehicle rolled before resting in a nearby ditch. The passenger, Shyann McRoberts (Talmage), was ejected from the vehicle. Both were transported to Nemaha County Hospital by Auburn Rescue and later transferred to a Lincoln hospital. According to a news release from the sheriff's office, McRoberts was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
