Former Chief Gumm Appointed to Civil Service Commission

COLUMBUS - Former Police Chief William Gumm has been appointed to the Civil Service Commission. The Columbus City Council appointed Gumm on Monday, following a recommendation from Mayor Jim Bulkley. Gumm served as police chief for 23 years in Columbus, and earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bellevue College, while serving as a Bellevue Police Lieutenant, says the recommendation. Umm has also attended the 24th Management College at Southwestern Law Enforcement Institute in Dallas, Texas, the Regional Community Policing Institute in Kansas City, Missouri, and the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, says the city. The council approved the appointment unanimously.
