Felony Dropped in Kunes Case

DAVID CITY - A man was sentenced to probation after his felony charge was dropped in Butler County. Court documents say Jason Kunes, 41, of Columbus was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor criminal mischief, which were both dropped. Kunes plead no contest to a disturbing the peace charge and violating a protection order, and was sentenced to probation on both counts in early April, say court records. The charges stemmed from alleged incidents in October and November of 2017, say court records. Court records say Kunes most recently plead no guilty to two misdemeanor assault charges and a criminal mischief charge in Platte County Court. The charges stem from an alleged incident in February, and Kunes is set to appear in county court on Thursday, says records.
