Falls City Hopes To Maximize Deterrence With Drug Testing Policy

FALLS CITY – The Falls City School Board is considering a policy for drug testing of students.

Superintendent Tim Heckenlively said there many factors to consider in a successful drug-testing policy, such as parental support and drug usage data.

He said any policy will recognize the necessity of a team-oriented effort.

Heckenlively: “That effort requires the cooperation of school officials, coaches, counselors, parents, students and sometimes law enforcement. Each member of the team has an integral part to play.”

He said the goal of the policy would be to maximize deterrence and intervention.
