WAHOO - An inmate who assaulted a sheriff’s deputy during transport and escaped near Ithaca, Neb., Wednesday has been captured after attempting to pawn a gun he took from the deputy. Eric Scott, 37, was arrested in Pottawattamie County. Investigators told WOWT News that Scott was arrested after he tried to pawn a handgun that had been reported stolen. Nebraska State Patrol said 37-year-old Eric Scott stole a state vehicle Wednesday as he was being transported from the Nebraska State Penitentiary in Lincoln to the Dodge County Jail. Saunders County Sheriff Kevin Stukenholtz said the stolen 2012 Gray Chevy Impala was found in the parking lot of Nebraska Furniture Mart near at 72nd Street.
