ERICSON, NE (News Channel Nebraska) – Authorities are concerned about the integrity of a dam in central Nebraska.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the southwest Boone County communities of Primrose and Cedar Rapids. The source of concern is the Ericson Dam on the Cedar River just south of Ericson. The service says water was close to the top of the dam on Thursday night. The dam is holding but officials say it could fail.
The service advises residents to stay away from the Cedar River as river banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
