NORFOLK --A Saturday morning hair appointment went awry for one woman in downtown Norfolk. Rescue crews were called to Putters Jewelry at 408 West Norfolk Avenue shortly after 8:00 a.m. after a motorist's pick-up had driven right into the front of the store. Luckily, no one was hurt but it did take the towing company more than an hour to dislodge the vehicle. Jay Putters of Putters Jewelry said, "She said she was parking, she said she had a hair appointment with Karen at Franc's (a downtown beauty shop) and her foot came off the brake and on to the accelerator and through the front window she came." The driver was wearing her seat belt. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
