Driver Uninjured After Hitting Stoplight on 33rd Avenue

COLUMBUS - Columbus Police reports say a driver escaped injury, after an attempt to turn resulted in a head-on collision with the base of a traffic light. CPD reports say the 26-year-old was heading northbound on 33rd Avenue, when they attempted to turn left onto 8th Street. Due to the slippery conditions, police say the vehicle failed to turn tight enough, and went head-on into the base of a traffic light on the northwest corner of the intersection. The driver was uninjured but the 2017 Dodge Ram Pickup suffered an estimated $3,000 in damage, and the pole suffered an estimated $200 in damage, says reports. The accident occurred at roughly 8:15 p.m. on Friday, says CPD.
