Dollar General In Broken Bow Requiring Masks

Dollar General will now require masks after signs were hung up on the front doors at the Broken Bow location. The bright yellow border surrounded the words “Do your part. Face-covering required. Except where doing so is not recommended due to age, may worsen a health or medical condition, or is otherwise exempted by local or state order.”

Inside the first set of doors, masks and hand sanitizer is available for patrons to use. A spokesperson for Dollar General did not immediately respond to a request for comment and no press release announcing a company-wide mandate has been released.

If the mask requirement has been implemented in stores across the country, Dollar General would be joining a large number of retailers who have required masks in the past few weeks.

The signs were up just a day before President Donald Trump announced that he is encouraging all Americans to wear a mask by stating, “Whether you like the mask or not, they have an impact.” He also stated that the coronavirus situation will “probably, unfortunately, get worse before it gets better.”

Loup Basin Public Health Department is also encouraging residents to wear masks when social distancing is not possible and to frequently wash hands, as it is one of the most effective ways to stop the spread of COIVD-19.
