Dodge Stratus Loses Battle With Semi In A Two-Vehicle Accident

BROKEN BOW— A driver who thought she had enough time to cross an intersection, causes a two vehicle accident between her sedan and a semi on Friday, September 14. According to the accident report by the Broken Bow Police Department, Terrill Winter, 85 of Miller was stopped at a stop sign in her white Dodge Stratus on Arapahoe Lane. At the same time, a red Peterbilt driven by Scot Robertus, 52 of Ansley, was traveling east bound on South E Street.

According to the report, Winter thought she had enough time to get through the intersection and pulled in front of the semi. Robertus told police he attempted to swerve right to avoid hitting the driver’s side door of the Stratus, and struck the left rear side of the vehicle. Winter’s car then spun around the semi and became lodged under the semi-trailer.

The Dodge Stratus was listed as totaled, while the semi suffered approximately $5,500 in damages. Airbags were listed as not being deployed and both drivers were wearing seat belts. While no injuries were reported, Winter was issued a citation in relation to the accident.
