BROKEN BOW—The Broken Bow Aquatic Center and Swimming Pool (1053 Laurel Drive, Broken Bow, NE 68822) is up and running for the summer season, having opened on June 1. Manager Laurie French said the pool staff is waiting for more warm weather but the water feels great!

French said she has a great lifeguard staff who has been training to keep everybody safe this summer.

“It’s doing really well, we got several of them back. We go through lots of training. It’s just an ongoing thing, we got to keep fresh on our skills and that’s my job as a lifeguard instructor as well as being the manager,” French said.

French encourages the public to come visit the pool and enjoy water aerobics, the lily pads, diving boards, slides, and dump bucket. She reminds guests to always stay within arm’s reach of kids and to stay safe.

In addition to regular pool hours and activities, swim lessons will be offered this June and July. French thanked the Salvation Army for its generous donation which helps keep swim lessons affordable. Lessons are offered through the Red Cross and you can contact the pool at (308) 872-5177 to learn more.
