Custer County Foundation Awards $40,950 To 19 Organizations

CUSTER COUNTY—The Custer County Foundation reviewed grant requests for the period ending October 31, 2018 and is awarding a total of $40,950 to 19 Custer County organizations.

“It’s always an exciting time when we get to announce our grant recipients,” said Lindsay Divan, Executive Director of the Foundation. “The generous support we receive from our donors through our annual Gala & Auction in December enables the Foundation to continue to have a county wide impact through the grants we are able to award.”

The Foundation Grants committee recommended, and the Board of Directors approved, the following awards:

Anselmo-Merna Elementary: To help purchase flexible seating for the A-M Elementary Library. The committee decided to award $3,000.

Ansley FFA Chapter: To help purchase a tower garden for K-6 classroom. The committee decided to award $1,200.

Ansley Teachers Village Organization: To help provide supplies for the weekend backpack program. The committee decided to award $1,100.

Arnold Community Theater: To help enhance the sound quality in the theater. The committee decided to award $1,000.

Broken Bow Public Schools: To help with the STEM lab project and resources. The committee decided to award $700.

Callaway Good Life Center: To help purchase a blanket warmer. The committee decided to award $3,600.

Callaway Housing Corporation: To build a concrete parking pad. The committee decided to award $3,000.

Callaway Memorial Garden: To help purchase and install a gazebo. The committee decided to award $3,000.

Central Plains Center for Services: To help with the Super Kids Club Program. The committee decided to award $6,000.

Comstock Community Garden: To help purchase materials needed for the Comstock Community Garden. The committee decided to award $500.

Custer County CAPABLE: To help with the HEROs Mentoring Program. The committee decided to award $750.

Custer Care: To help purchase a Razier Lift. The committee decided to award $3,000.

Custer County Sheriff’s Office: To help purchase a K9 Kennel Insert for Dodge Pickup. The committee decided to award $2,500.

Gates Cemetery Board: To help purchase metal mortuary signs to place on unmarked burial sites. The committee decided to award $1,000.

Healing Hearts & Families: To help provide materials and services to domestic violence victims, sexual and human trafficking victims, and youth experiencing risky behaviors. The committee decided to award $5,500.

Nebraska One Box Shooting Complex: To help purchase an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The committee decided to award $1,275.

Prairie Pioneer Center: To help purchase a new soft serve ice cream. The committee decided to award $2,500.

TeamMates of Broken Bow: To help mentees and mentors attend a UNK Basketball game. The committee decided to award $1,025.

Vissi d’Arte Club: To help with supplies for the Comstock Open Art Competition. The committee decided to award $300.
