NORFOLK, NE — There’s a new pumpkin patch and corn maze in town.
According to the owners of the Crows Nest, Angie and Chris Sovereign they weren’t sure pumpkins would be able to grow.
Luckily they did, and after the pumpkins started growing there was just one questioned Angie asked, “Why don’t we sell them?"
The Crows Nest opened up September 29 and have hay bales and tractor tires for kids to play on as well as a corn maze and corn pit.
One of the more popular attractions is the haunted corn maze which is opened on Saturdays from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
“We partnered up with Norfolk High School’s theatre club. They come out and haunt the maze and what we make for that night we split it 50/50. It's a good fundraiser for them.”
They also host field trips and like to have fundraising opportunities like the one this upcoming Saturday.
"We are bringing the Northeast Animal Shelter out. They are going to bring some dogs and anyone who does adopt a dog, we are going to give them a free pumpkin. That’s from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.”
The Crows Nest is opened Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the haunted maze from 8 p.m. 11 pm., Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
