Cool water rescue in David City

DAVID CITY, NE (News Channel Nebraska) – Historic flooding has brought out the best in Nebraskans.

Watch as David City and Bellwood Fire and Rescue get creative last Thursday to rescue flood victims.

This is what it looked like at Brandenburg Lakes using David City’s Rescue 1. Most of the time we’re used to seeing the ladder extended high atop of raging fire, but volunteer firefighters in Butler County found their own solution to saving those stranded by massive flooding. Watch as several first responders make their way across raging flood waters.

Governor Pete Ricketts says this might be the most devastating natural disaster in Nebraska’s history as the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency says the bill, so far, to public infrastructure tops seven hundred million dollars.
