COLUMBUS - The Columbus Community welcomed the newest Central Community College -Columbus President Dr. Kathy Fuchser on Thursday. A meet and greet was held for the new Columbus Campus President Dr. Fuchser, who is taking over for Dr. Mathew Gotschall. Dr. Gotschall was promoted to President for the entirety of Central Community College. "It means very much to take on this role. It's a big responsibility, but mostly it's an opportunity to work with people who do a great job everyday serving students, serving the community. Its a wonderful way to influence what we do here in Columbus," says Fuchser. Fuchser previously worked as the Dean of Academic Education for CCC for 3 years, which she says was a nice step before taking on the role as President. "I think the job helped me understand that what we do is identify challenges and find solutions, so that we can move forward and be a better community," says Fuchser. Fuchser took over as Campus President on January 1st. The meet and greet lasted from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the north end of Central's Fine Arts building.
