Community Connection Night, in Downtown Beatrice

BEATRICE – Beatrice Police and Beatrice Fire and Rescue held their annual Community Connection event last night on 5th Street, in the downtown area. Beatrice Police Chief Bruce Lang says the public safety departments have been holding the event for about four years, as a way of getting information from people that could aid in the response to an emergency call involving them or a family member. Julie’s Hot Dog stand was providing a free hotdog to anyone who filled out the form that provides police, fire and rescue with critical information, if emergencies arise. Lang says the idea for the information system is modeled after another police department’s program.
