CENTRAL CITY, Neb. - A Columbus woman has been found guilty of stealing just under $90,000 from a Silver Creek business. 25-year-old Chelsea Aldrich faces a max of 20 years in prison after she pleaded no contest Tuesday in Merrick County District court. Records say, in Aldrich's role as secretary, she signed over 32 checks from the company's account to her own personal account from August of 2016 to January of 2017. The company owners told authorities that they did not approve any of the checks. Documents say Aldrich's bank account showed that she received the money, which totaled $89,988.05. Judge Rachel Daugherty also ordered that Aldrich pay back $84,235.80 in restitution. She is set to be sentenced on April 16th in Central City.
