Columbus School Board to Vote on Superintendent Contract Extension

COLUMBUS, Neb. - The Columbus Public Schools Board will soon vote on extending the superintendent's contract. Superintendent Troy Loeffelholz's contract is set to expire in 2020, but the new deal would add an additional year to the contract. The new contract would pay him $215,925, plus benefits, next school year, a three percent increase from this year's salary of $208,925. The board has extended his contract annually over the last several years. The extension is on the agenda for the committee of the whole meeting on Monday, if it passes, it will be added to the board meeting agenda the following week. In comparison of other similar districts, Norfolk Public Schools paid their superintendent Jami Jo Thompson just over $197,000 this year.
