Columbus Man Accused of Stealing Farm Equipment Valued $80,000, Found Guilty

COLUMBUS, Neb. - A Columbus man charged with stealing two pieces of pricey farm equipment, was found guilty of one of the charges on Wednesday. 41-year-old Shane Pritchett will be sentenced in March after pleading 'no contest' to one count of theft that carries a max of 20 years behind bars. Records say in August of last year, Pritchett took a skid loader and a backhoe/excavator from two separate properties in Columbus. Authorities were able to use a GPS tracker on one of the pieces of equipment to locate it in rural Colfax County. The two pieces of equipment, both John Deere products, are valued around $80,000 combined.
