Columbus Man Accused of Felony Stalking, Violating Protection Order

COLUMBUS, Neb. - A Columbus man is being accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend and violating a protection order for a second time. 23-year-old Oscar Leon is charged with felony stalking and felony violating a protection order after an incident on September 6th. According to court records, Leon's ex girlfriend told police he had recently found her in Omaha, Fremont and a Columbus business, and got into a verbal argument in Columbus. The police were called after the Fremont and Columbus incidents, according to documents. On September 6th, the records say Leon came to his ex's girlfriend's house, where she was located, and exchanged words with the resident before walking away. Later that night, the documents say, he knocked again and was with one or two other males and the ex-girlfriend of the resident. The affidavit says Leon also had what looked to be a gun in his waistband. The records say Leon and the resident again exchanged words before he and his group left. The woman with Leon told police, according to documents, that Leon was knocking on the door and another person was knocking on the window with a stick. Leon was later arrested for violating the protection order, and it was upgraded to a felony because he was previously convicted on the same charge from an incident in 2015. He was later charged with stalking. He will make his first court appearance on September 20th.
