Columbus Man Accused of Dealing Meth to be Sentenced in March for Drug Charge

COLUMBUS, Neb. - A Columbus man already in prison will learn if he's getting more time behind bars next month, after being convicted of a meth charge in January. 27-year-old Justin Cox was found guilty of attempting to deal meth in Platte County. Court records say that police searched Cox’s Columbus home on a warrant and found meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The documents say Cox later told police he has used and sold meth. He was originally charged with simple possession of meth, but prosecutors later bumped up the charge to dealing the drug. Cox is currently in the Nebraska State Penitentiary in Lincoln on a separate drug charge. His projected release date is March 29th of this year. He'll be sentenced in Platte County on March 16th.
