Columbus Library Selling Books for Cheap Over Super Bowl Weekend

COLUMBUS, Neb. - For folks looking to re-stock their bookshelves, the Columbus Library is the place to be this weekend. The library is hosting their Super Book Sale until Sunday and many turned out on day one to fill-up on cheap books. "Thursday night is always crazy, I had somebody that came back today that said it got too hot in there with all the bodies, so they had to come back" says Melodee Pedersen, book sale chairman. All books at the sale are $1 or less, with children's books coming in at just 25 cents. The books being sold are made up of old library books and donations from the public. "It gives the public some place to give their used books and somebody else gets to benefit from them. So it's a win-win," says Pedersen. Pedersen hopes they can sell as many as possilbe, so they have room on the shelves for the next sale, come August. "They'll be more coming in, we know, so we've got to make some space," says Pedersen. Virtually every genre is offered at the sale, with fiction writing being the most available. Pedersen says to come along this weekend, so you're ready to go next time a big snow storm happens. "That blizzard that we had a couple weeks ago, that we couldn't really go anywhere, come get some stuff so when that happens you've got something to do," says Pedersen. The event runs all day Saturday and Sunday afternoon, where you can purchase a bag of books for $2.
