COLUMBUS - The city of Columbus has been awarded an $850,000 rural workforce housing grant that will create $2.1 million in development. Officials say matching funds will help bolster this number to an even higher overall investment in to the community.
"This grant will be matched with local funds including $750,000 from the City of Columbus economic development fund, $250,000 from Nebraska Investment Finance Authority, $150,000 from Columbus Community Foundation, $50,000 from Columbus United Way Endowment and $50,000 from Columbus Development Corporation," says the city.
