HARTINGTON - A Hartington man and general manager of Cedar-Knox Public Power District is dead after being hit by a car on Monday.
Cedar County Sheriff Larry Koranda says deputies were sent to Highway 84 just west of the Highway 57 junction. Sheriff Koranda says 55-year old Daniel Leise of Hartington was crossing the highway when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle being driven by 72-year old Alton Halle.
Koranda says Leise was helping to maintain the grounds at the St. Michael's Cemetery when he was hit. Leise was the general manager of the Cedar-Knox Public Power District.
Leise was flown by Lifenet to a Sioux City hospital where he died of his injuries. Halle was uninjured.
