City Council to Discuss Water/Sewer Rates, Indian Hills Playground, Market on the Square

BROKEN BOW–The Broken Bow City Council will hold its regular meeting tonight (February 12) at 6 p.m. in the City Hall Main Floor Conference Room (314 South 10th Avenue, Broken Bow).

A gambling Awareness Month Proclamation and Zoning Administrator Position are both on the agenda as well as consideration of approval for use of parking stalls for Market in the Square.

There will be a Public Hearing for Ordinance 1194, North 17th Subdivision.

New business items include the following items:
–Move Council Meetings to the Library – Consideration of moving the City Council
meeting to the Broken Bow Library.

–Indian Hills Playground Equipment – Consideration of allowing the money donated for
the Indian Hills Playground Equipment to the Custer County Foundation so that money
can be fundraised for all-inclusive playground equipment.

–Street Closure – Consideration of closing the South C Street from South 9th Avenue to
South 10th Avenue on March 24th for a car show from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

–Board Appointments – Consideration of approving the appointments of Nicolle Bailey to
a 2 year term to fill the vacant position on the Planning Commission, Jim Duncan to the
Planning Commission for a 3 year term ending February 2022, Paul Holland and Ryan
Vonderohe to the Park Board for a 3 year term ending February 2022, and Rick Maas to
the Community Redevelopment Authority Board for a 5 year term ending February 2024.

There will also be Public Hearings for Ordinance 1195, Water Rates; Ordinance 1196, Sewer Rates; Ordinance 1197, Amended Wage Ordinance; Resolution 2019-4 One and Six Year Plan.

Flood Risk Reduction and Handibus Grant funding will also be discussed.

–February 18th – City Offices Closed – Presidents’ Day
–February 25th – Board of Public Works Meeting at 12:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building
–The next City Council Meeting will be on Tuesday, February 26 at 6:00 p.m.
