Changes Coming to 33rd Avenue Stop Lights

COLUMBUS - Motorists will be seeing some changes to stop lights on 33rd Avenue due to increased traffic from the high school. The Columbus City Council approved a 33rd Avenue Traffic Operations Analysis for the stop lights at 27th Street, 38th Street, and Lost Creek Parkway, Monday night. The suggested changes from the analysis suggest left-hand turn lights be added to the north and southbound lanes at 27th Street, and a left-hand turn signal be added in the southbound lane at 38th Street, said City engineer Rick Bogus. Bogus said they also plan to alter the left-hand turn light that handles west-east bound traffic on Lost Creek Parkway. The turn signal currently turns red, after shifting from green, and will be altered to shift instead to yellow, said Bogus. The changes will take place sometime over the summer, prior to the 2018-19 school year said Bogus.
