Chamber, NPPD Hosting Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion Summit

COLUMBUS - The Columbus Area Chamber and Nebraska Public Power are teaming up to host a Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion Summit. This is the 2nd Annual Summit, and NPPD's Manager of Diversity Inclusion and Nebraska Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Yesenia Peck, says this is a gathering of specialty human resource professionals and community leaders deciphering how diversity impacts the local work place. "We are trying to emphasize how important it is to have open conversations, and how important it is to embrace our differences. Learning from each other within a respectful conversation," says Peck. The event will be held on Tuesday June 5th, and is the kick-off to several other diversity summits happening around the state this Summer. The group is welcoming business leaders from the community to attend to be a part of the conversation. "Nebraska Public Power is a supporter of the Engaging Diversity Committee of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, so we are supporting all of the communities that we are in, and one of our projects is inclusion. We know if our communities are good, we're good," says Peck. The Columbus summit begins at 8 a.m. and will run until noon, at Central Community College's West Education Center, room 205.
