CCSO Looking For Information Regarding Signs Being Shot Near Sargent

SARGENT— Playing a practical joke on someone can be funny, but endangering lives will never be funny. According to call logs, on April 1 occupants in a white van were observed to have allegedly fired a weapon over a residence. The vehicle then traveled south where it was seen again. Witnesses said they saw around six individuals in possession of guns in a white ‘beat up’ van with tinted windows.

Deputy Ivan Phelps of the Custer County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area where he was unable to locate the van. He did, however, observe road signs with holes and damage due to being shot with some kind of firearm. Deputy Phelps stated that the description of the van given was an old, white, possibly Dodge Caravan, or similar vehicle. The following day the log states the van was seen again and was traveling north.

If anyone has any information regarding the incident, please contact the Custer County Sheriff’s Office at (308) 872-6418.
