Canterbury Cannibal Has Left Blair Area, Now in Norfolk

BLAIR – The presence in Washington County, earlier this year, of a man convicted in England for sex offenses upset many area residents. Nicknamed by media in the United Kingdom as “the Canterbury Cannibal”, Dale Bolinger is no longer housed at the Washington County Jail. Dale Bolinger was moved to a sex offender program at the Norfolk Regional Center. The Washington County Attorney’s office, today in a news release, notified us that Dale Bollinger, as a registered sex offender, has had a change of address.  After Real Country 97 Three News searched the registry, it is found that Bolinger was moved to the Norfolk facility Thursday. Washington County Attorney Scott Vander Schaff and Washington County Sheriff Mike Robinson were extremely careful in following legal guidelines in arranging the transfer of Bolinger from the Washington County Jail to the Norfolk Regional Center. Court records say Bollinger planned to rape a 14 year-old girl, and then kill and eat her. Court documents also say he would digitally alter naked images of girls with apples in their mouths on serving dishes and in ovens, while in the UK. The facility in Norfolk has 120 bed sex offender treatment program.  Vander Schaff says state and county officials will monitor Bolinger to ensure local residents remain safe and secure.
