Callaway Man Accused Of Terroristic Threats Makes First Appearance

CUSTER COUNTY—Only two felony cases were on the docket in Custer County Court on Monday, September 17. Zachary Lopez, 21 of Callaway, made his first appearance in County Court after being accused of making terroristic threats against another person on August 17.

Terroristic threats is a class IIIA felony and carries a maximum sentence of three years imprisonment, a $10,000 fine, or both. Lopez appeared with his attorney Michael Borders and elected to have his case set for preliminary hearing on October 29 at 2 P.M.

According to the Custer County Clerk’s Office, Kenneth Loucks, 40 of Broken Bow, has had his case continued until November 5 at 2 P.M. Loucks, has been accused of criminal non-support, a class IV felony, from April 2017 to May 2018.

According to nebraskalegislature.gov, any person who intentionally fails, refuses, or neglects to provide proper support which he or she knows or reasonably should know he or she is legally obliged to provide to a spouse, minor child, minor stepchild, or other dependent commits criminal nonsupport. The maximum penalty for criminal non-support is two years imprisonment, a $10,000 fine, or both.
