Burglar used tractor to pull gun safe out of Iowa house, authorities say

Authorities in southwest Iowa are investigating a burglary that included the theft of a gun safe that was pulled through an outside wall of a home.
The Page County Sheriff’s Office said the burglary also included the theft of a freezer taken from a 27-year-old Blanchard, Iowa, man's residence April 30 or May 1. The Sheriff's Office said its investigation found that someone broke into the residence and stole the safe and freezer while the home was unoccupied.
The Sheriff's Office said a tractor was used to pull the gun safe through an outside wall of the home. Tire marks outside the residence led deputies to believe that a tractor was used to pull the safe. The gun safe was later recovered, the Sheriff's Office said, but it was damaged. The freezer remains missing.
