Broken Bow’s Lexie Foster medals at State Cross Country

Broken Bow Senior Lexie Foster took home a medal at the Class C State Cross Country Championships in Kearney on Friday (10/20). Foster placed 15th in a time of 21:05.7. The Class C state champion was Taya Skelton of Forth Calhoun in a winning time of 19:33.2. The Class C team champion was Holdrege. Cozad finished 5th in the team standings. The Class C boys team champion was Holdrege and the individual champion was Aidan Wheelock of Minden in a winning time of 16:44. Broken Bow sophomore Lane Russell finished 67th in his first state meet experience. Russell finished with a time of 19:27.6

Michaela Kelly of Burwell placed 5th in the Class D girls competition in time of 20:25.1. Rylee Rice of Ainsworth was the individual champion in time of 18:44.7. Ainsworth was also the team champion. Other area results included : Jenaya Pierce of SEM – 70th (23:12.7) ; Cora Hemmer of Burwell – 84th (23:40.2) ; Alicia Rhoads of Arcadia / Loup City – 88th (23:47.3). The Class D boys team champion was Malcolm and the individual champion was Elijah Frasher of Aquinas Catholic in a winning time of 16:33.4. Arcadia Loup City’s Dakota Cords was 87th in a time of 19:28.3.
