The Broken Bow girls and boys basketball teams met Falls City for what was themed as “The Battle on the Blacktop” on Saturday. The games were played on the dark colored floor of Doane College. In the girls game, Falls City was able to pull away in the second half for a 40-19 victory over the Lady Indians. The boys game went down to the wire. Falls City took the lead in the final minute 48-47 but Broken Bow’s Grayson Garey hit a 3 with 8 seconds left in the game to put the Indians in front 50-48. Falls City was not able to score in the final seconds as Broken Bow improved to 8-2 on the season.
