Broken Bow Middle School Lead4Change Burger Bash Thursday, July 29

BROKEN BOW—A Burger Bash fundraiser will take place on Thursday, July 29 from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Grocery Kart (937 East S East St, Broken Bow, NE 68822) to raise money for new picnic tables at the Broken Bow Middle School.

Middle school student Erin Taylor will be in eighth grade this fall and as part of her seventh grade Intro to Business class, she is participating in a Lead4Change project to help improve her community.

“We’re doing a Lead4Change project to build picnic tables for our school,” Taylor said. “It’s on the south side of the high school/middle school. The tables that are already there are rusty so we’re looking to replace them.”

The Lead4Change curriculum focuses on community service and leadership. Erin Taylor told KCNI/KBBN she is committed to this particular project in order to better her school and bring students together in fellowship.

“It all started while we went on a tour around the school to see what was rusted or needed repaired and then we had a few different ideas, and then we decided on which one we wanted to do,” Taylor continued. “If we have picnic tables when people come from out of town for sports and students in our school can sit in them and have conversations and just come together.”

Taylor told KCNI/KBBN she wants to thank Grocery Kart for sponsoring the Burger Bash and donating all the supplies. Burgers, chips, and drinks will be available for $5 on Thursday, July 29.
