Broken Bow Man Faces Animal Cruelty Charges

BROKEN BOW–A Broken Bow man is currently facing animal cruelty charges for allegedly torturing, repeatedly beating, and/or mutilating an animal.

Custer County Court records indicate that Branden J. Miller, 26, allegedly mistreated two kittens–one multicolored and one black–between November and December of 2019.

Court records state that one of the kittens was allegedly thrown against a bookshelf in December and upon examination by the Broken Bow Police Department and a local veterinary clinic, the multicolored kitten was said to have nerve damage and a fracture in its rib cage and the black kitten experienced a dislocated hip.

Following an emergency vet appointment on January 1, 2020 the black kitten was said to have a dislocated hip and the multicolored kitten had experienced severe injuries and was euthanized as a result.

Miller is also facing charges of first degree sexual assault of a child, a class IB felony, from 2017. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 3 at 2:30 p.m. for preliminary hearing on both cases.
