Broken Bow Library To Host Special Speaker

BROKEN BOW— The Broken Bow Public Library is pleased to announce that Dr. Charles Peek, UNK English Emeritus Faculty, will be at the library on Thursday, September 20 at 7 P.M. According to the press release from the library, Dr. Peek will be presenting aspects of the classic book My Antonia as the book has reached the 100th anniversary of the publication.

Dr. Peek will look at the differences between how the novel was written and how the novel says it was written, the issues contemporary to Cather and what the novel addresses today, as well as the ways in which Cather is and is not a “Nebraska” writer. The presentation is sponsored by the Broken Bow Library Foundation and is free and open to the public.
