Broken Bow Food Drive August 11

BROKEN BOW—The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints along with several other churches, will be sponsoring a food drive on Saturday, August 11th. Donations of non-perishable food items, as well as toiletries and paper products are requested. Particular items that are needed at this time are canned fruits and vegetables, cold cereals/oatmeal, detergents, and shampoo products.

Residents are asked to fill grocery bags or boxes and place them on their front porch by 9:00 A.M. on Saturday to be picked up by 12:00 P.M. and delivered to the Broken Bow Food Pantry. Drop-off areas will also be set up on the south side of the Broken Bow City Square Park on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

“This is the eighth or ninth year we’ve done this and we try to select the time of year when most people aren’t thinking about giving to the food pantry,” said David Sawyer. “This is kind of an off season for that and so the food pantry has a need in the summer.”

More information about helping with or contributing to the food drive is available by calling (308) 214-1658.
