Broken Bow Boys Stay Undefeated and Girls Get First Win


The Broken Bow girls basketball team picked up its first win of the season Tuesday night at Amherst 39-22. The Lady Indians outscored Amherst 19-6 in the second quarter to take control of the game. Freshman Kali Staples led the way for Broken Bow with a game high 17 points. The Lady Indians will next play at Minden on Friday.

The Broken Bow boys team held on for a 56-50 win over Amherst to improve to 3-0 on the season. The Indians built a 13 point lead at one point in the 3rd quarter but saw Amherst fight back to within a point in the 4th. But solid defense and timely free throw shooting helped Broken Bow hang on to pick up the win. Paydn Borders led the way with 22 points. Josh Harvey chipped in 14 and Mason McMeen also finished in double figures with 10. The Broken Bow boys are off until they host Ainsworth on December 15.
