Broken Bow American Legion Season Ends
American Legion

The Broken Bow American Legion Senior Baseball season came to a close on Monday night with a loss to Holdrege.  Broken Bow had fought valiantly following an opening round loss in the District Tournament, but fatigue finally caught up to them as they battled their way through the elimination bracket.

Hunter Smith, playing in what would turn out to be his final American Legion baseball game before beginning his college career, led off the game with a home run and Broken Bow received runs scored from Sam Petersen, Hunter Schnase, Cade Chapin and Mitchell Burnett, but Holdrege’s firepower proved to be too much.
Holdrege powered their way to a 17-7 victory and a place in the next round of the District Tournament.
