ARNOLD—An idea that at first began as a way to get her baking business out of her house, has turned into a coffee house and gift shop. Oh and her baking business? Yep, still in her house.
BrewBakers officially cut the ribbon in their Grand Opening on Friday, September 21 in Arnold along side the company of family, friends, and Senator Matt Williams. Originally when owner Jodi Carlson bought the building it was a way to get her baking business out of her house and into somewhere that could be used for expanding. When the opportunity came to purchase the current building, she jumped at the opportunity.
The building had previously been a hardware store, eventually turned into Kim’s Antique Store, and finally into BrewBakers. Once the remodeling began, the plans for the building to become a bakery and coffee shop soon evolved in to a coffee shop and gift shop known as BrewBakers. The Grand Opening took around two years to put together as the renovations took such a long time. Some of the renovations include a skylight that was uncovered, a specialty ceiling, as well as refinishing the wood flooring.
Jodi wants this place to be somewhere where people can come in, relax, and hangout which is accented by opening the upper level of the shop and adding couches, chairs, and tables. Another open area that can also be rented for use is the back corner of BrewBakers which has tables, chairs, and even a kitchen.
While the store is well known for the baked goods and a historical feel, there is also an array of gifts to browse for while in the shop. BrewBakers is open Thursday’s and Friday’s 8-5 and on Saturday’s 9-3.
Also cutting the ribbon for their Grand Opening was the Farmhouse Antiques & Flea Market. This “pop-up business” is owned by Kim Beshaler and Gail Reed and is located in the lower level of Hotel Custer in Arnold
