Boyd County putting out call for help building new water line

SPENCER – Two weeks later, and most residents in Boyd County are still without water – and will be for some time.

Members of the Boyd County Rural Water District have set up a GoFundMe page to try and raise the money to bore a new water line.

County officials say a large portion of Boyd County could be without water for up to two months after the Spencer Dam broke. The Rural Water District estimates the cost for a new water line will be over $2 million.

While FEMA is covering some of the cost, they won’t be sending enough money to cover it all. Boyd County is hoping to raise $400,000.
