Book Bag Giveaway This Afternoon

The Custer County Unit of the Salvation Army (click for Facebook page) will host its annual Book Bag/School Supplies Giveaway this afternoon from 4-6pm. Doors open at 4pm at the Broken Bow Municipal Building (314 South 10th Avenue in Broken Bow). Book bags, school supplies, and vouchers for school clothing will be distributed. These items are being made available for Custer County school age children whose families otherwise may not be able to purchase supplies. Chairperson Carol Allen estimates that as many as 150 to 180 kids might come to receive help with getting school supplies. Children must be accompanied by an adult and all items will be distributed while supplies last. This event is made possible by Custer County Unit of Salvation Army and donations from the community, including the E-Free Church Vacation Bible School classes and Nebraska State Bank employees.
