Body of hunter recovered from Sherman County Reservoir

According to the Nebraska Game and Parks,the body of a hunter who fell out of a boat on Sherman County Reservoir on Nov. 8 has been recovered.

Nebraska Game and Parks Commission conservation officers, along with the Burwell Dive Team, located and recovered the body of Anthony Dush, 21, of Saint Paul, at approximately 9 p.m. Nov. 8. 

Dush and another hunter were on a duck hunt traveling across the lake in a boat when it capsized, throwing both into the water. The other hunter, Ben Dush, swam to a nearby cabin and called for help. Ben was treated at the scene by EMT’s and released.

According to a press release from the St. Paul Volunteer Fire Department, Anthony Dush was a dedicated 2 year member of the St. Paul Fire Department.

An investigation of the incident is ongoing.
