BB Police Department to Participate in Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign

BROKEN BOW–The Broken Bow Police Department (BBPD) will be participating in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign that will be August 19 through September 5. According to a press release from BBPD, officers will be working extra hours and grant money will pay for their additional hours.

Summer is winding down and the last holiday of the summer, Labor Day, is right around the corner which makes it a good time to remind you to Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.

There were 46,394 accidents in Nebraska in 2020, including 1,506 that were alcohol involved. There were 72 fatalities that involved alcohol and 586 injuries. In 2020 Custer County had 213 accidents with 9 being alcohol related, of the 9 there were 5 injuries.

Chief Steve Scott said, “We participate in these campaigns in order to better protect the citizens of Broken Bow. I urge you not to drink and drive!”
