BB Library Adopt a Grandparent Event and Book Drive

BROKEN BOW–The Broken Bow Public Library is again partnering with Off Broadway this holiday season to sponsor the “Adopt a Grandparent” event.  Ornaments with the names of residents at Off Broadway are now available at the library. Along with the individual’s name, each ornament lists a few small gift ideas suitable for that person.

On Thursday, December 14th at 4:30 p.m., everyone who selected an ornament will meet their adopted “Grandma” or “Grandpa” for a party at Off Broadway.  In addition to presenting the gifts to the adopted grandparent during the party, there is time for conversation and a chance to get to know the grandparents better.

The “Adopt a Grandparent” event is one of the library’s most rewarding and successful annual programs, so please consider taking part.  If you have questions or need additional information please call the library at 308-872-2927.

Share the Joy of Reading! The library book driving continues until December 13. You can drop off used children’s books in good condition or new children’s books at the library’s temporary location: 220 Industrial Park Drive in Broken Bow.

Donated books are then given to the Broken Bow Does organization who make the books available to area families before Christmas. These books always make a child’s holiday extra special as they love having a book they can keep and call their own. Last year, more than 600 books were donated to families and we hope to gather that many usable books again this year.
